Upload

Updated: 01/11/2022 09:27 AM

The upload process gets evaluated each year after season and is redesigned with improvements determined by the things we experienced during that season. We strive to make the process of getting your 1099s and subset of forms done as painless as possible.

This year (2021 tax season), you will notice both a design change and some functionality changes. We have moved away from using 'Customer Numbers' in favor of 'Emails'. Since emails are unique and this is our main way of communication with our customers when processing files, we have transitioned our system to using your email. We do still have record of your customer number and if needed can more than likely find your account with this number. This will slowly be phased out as this system is used and your information is updated.

By uploading any file to our system (through the program or website), you agree to our 'Terms of Use'.

How to Upload Through the 1099 Express Program

  • Single File
    1. Open your 2021 1099 Express program.
    2. Select 'File' -> 'Open' or 'File' -> 'Re-Open' and select the file you want to upload to us.
    3. Make sure the data that is loaded into the program is correct and that it is what you want to send to us.
    4. Select 'Service Bureau' -> 'Send' and a message box will show up with 4 options, 'Single File', 'Multiple Files', 'Cancel', 'Help'.
    5. Select 'Single File'.
      • If there are no errors in your file, you should see a loading bar appear.
      • If there are errors, you will see a message box that allows you to list the errors and fix them. All errors must be fixed before a file can be uploaded. Start this process over when you have fixed all errors.
    6. When the progress bar is done a message will appear from the program and you will be automatically sent to your default browser to our upload page.
      • If you have a browser open, a new tab will more than likely be opened and not a new browser window.
      • If you cannot find the upload page or it did not open a browser, you can copy the link that is displayed in the message box asking you to wait and paste it directly into your browser. This link is only valid for 1 hour and will require that you upload the files again if the hour elapses.
    7. Now that you are on the 'Data Entry' page, in these instructions, please go down to the 'Data Entry' section.
  • Multiple Files
    1. Open your 2021 1099 Express program.
    2. Select 'File' -> 'Close (New)' to make sure that no file is open in the program.
    3. Select 'Service Bureau' -> 'Send' and a message box will show up with 4 options, 'Single File', 'Multiple Files', 'Cancel', 'Help'.
    4. Select 'Multiple Files' and you will see a file selection menu appear.
    5. Navigate to your files and add only the ones you want to upload to the list.
    6. Once all files you want to upload are in the list, click 'OK'.
    8. Now that you are on the 'Data Entry' page, in these instructions, please go down to the 'Data Entry' section.

How to Upload Through the Website

  1. Navigate in your browser to our upload page
  2. Click the 'SELECT FILE' button.
  3. A windows file explorer window will appear. Navigate and select the file(s) you want to upload.
    • Note:
      • Files must be in the same folder location to be able to select multiple files.
      • No '.src' file can be uploaded directly through the website. These files must be uploaded through the 1099 Express program.
  4. Once all your files are selected, click 'Open'. You should now see all of your selected files listed below the 'SELECT FILES' button.
  5. Make sure all files that are listed are correct. There is a 10mb limit for a single upload.
  6. Click the 'I'm not a robot' Captcha box.
  7. Read the 'Terms of Use' and then check the 'I Agree to the Terms of Use' checkbox.
  8. After the Captcha and checkbox are both selected and if there are no issues with the selected files (invalid file type, selected files are >10mb, etc.), the 'Continue' button will turn blue.

Data Entry Page

  1. Enter your email into the 'Email' field.
    • If you have sent files before, you may see your email and other data already populated.
  2. Your email will get either a green checkmark or an orange caution symbol next to it.
    • The green checkmark means your email was found in our system and your data should be shown.
    • The orange caution symbol means your email is new and will be entered into our system along with the other data when you finish filling out this form.
  3. Fill out or update the information displayed on the form.
  4. Validate that the files selected for upload and the number of records in those files are correct in the 'Selected File(s)' section.
    • The record count only counts the number of non-voided (or 'B' records) that are in the file(s).
  5. Now select the purpose of this upload under the 'File's Information' section.
    • Depending on the files that where selected, you may see different options appear.
  6. Once the desired purpose is selected, you should see the price of the upload display below payment.
    • The orange number is the price if you want to be invoiced (if option available) and the blue number is the price if you want to pay for your upload now.
  7. We recommend the 'Pay Now' option as it will make sure that there are no delays in getting your files processed.
