1099 Express can combine multiple source files (.src files) into a single IRS compatible file, even if the source files are different form types (Dividends, Interest, Misc, etc.), and even if the source files are from different Companies.
Source files may reside in any folder or multiple folders. Typically, source files are found in the c:\E20xx folder, but may be in any folder.
To build multiple files into a single IRS file, click the Options Menu then Build Build IRS File - Multiple Files. A Window will appear with several white boxes, each having a title. Navigate to the file (select the correct drive, folder) then double-click the file to add it to the lower list box. When all desired source files are in the list box, click the "OK". The multiple build will start.
Only ONE TCC may be used for a multiple build, regardless of how many source files are combined and regardless of how many Companies (Filers) are present. The FIRST source file (in the lower list box) must have the complete TCC holder Information. Only the TCC Information from the first file is sent to the IRS. The TCC Holder Information in other files is ignored and need not be present. All source files must have complete Company Information. Each file must also have the Account number fields populated. Account numbers can be populated automatically by clicking the Edit Menu then "Insert Account Numbers".
A file called TrackingReportFor_IRSx.txt will be present in the C:\E20xx\REPORTS folder. The Tracking Report is also shown on a white screen called the Text Viewer, with instructions. Please print this report, since it contains tracking details and proof of filing to IRS file.
