Error: Invalid or Missing SSN

number, or contains non-numeric numeric digits.
Solution: Solicit another W-9 from the payee, per Publication 1586, to establish

You can then print, and e-File to the IRS with missing TaxID numbers. For

Error: Invalid Char in Source -->#13
Meaning: A character considered invalid by the IRS was put into Excel by another
program, and found by 1099 Express. The file would fail if e-Filed to the IRS.
Solution: Click the Search Menu, then "Strip Character From File".
Generally these are characters less than 14 such as #13, #10, #9, etc.
If this is the case, type the "pound sign" and the number of the error, such as
#13. Strip Character From File can also remove unwanted characters such as
Quotes.
