Uploading XML File(s) to the IRS
After removing all SQL Injection characters, you must go the web page shown below, in 1 of 2 ways:
1. Click the "Air Upload" button on the FACE of the 1095 Express program. OR
2. Click the link below:
Affordable Care Act Information Returns (AIR)
Click the AIR UI Channel Login link shown above. Next log into e-Services, and choose the bubble for the (ACA) Login, then click "Upload ACA Forms".
Upload both files. 1. The Manifest .xml file, and the Forms .xml file.
Be absolutely certain the print the confirmation page sent by the IRS, containing your Receipt ID! You should also copy this entire page, Including your Receipt ID, then paste all test to the bottom
part of the Tracking Report .txt file.
Log back into the IRS in one day and "Check your Transmission Status". You should get the status from the IRS of either:
1. Accepted.
2. Accepted with Errors.
3. Rejected.
Results 2 and 3 require more processing and/or Correction files, or IRS Penalties may apply. Your problems and work has just begun. (Not ominous at all...)
If you receive the status "Accepted with Errors" then you must download and save, the IRS "Ack XML Error file".
SAVE THIS FILE IS THE SAME LOCATION AS THE OTHER FILES. YOU WILL NEED THEM ALL.
The file looks like this:
Ack_1095B-17-00016843_02-16-2017_07-17-04PM_UTC.xml
- Each field is separated by an underline.
- Begins with the word Ack.
- Then the Receipt ID.
- Then the the date and Time stamp.
- and the Filename Extension which is naturally .xml
THIS FILE CAN BE VIEWED ONLY WITH NOTEPAD++
The Ack Error file can not be viewed with regular Notepad that comes with Windows. Regular notepad does not understand the XML language.
You will need to discover the errors reported by the IRS inside the Ack Error File. The IRS is expecting a "Correction File" or penalties may apply.
To create the correction file, and understand what the IRS wants, and further steps, please go to this link: 1095Express.com II After e-Filing
