Frequently Asked Questions

Copy B and Copy 2 should be mailed by January 31st to the recipient/payee.

No, if you have 10 forms or more to file, 1099 Express creates both recipient copies on BLANK paper. These are IRS compliant "Substitute" forms.

To print an example click on the 'FILE' tab, then "Print a Test Page". Notice both forms, and mailing labels on the bottom left.

No, the No. 9 or No. 10 double window envelopes (like the check envelopes) should be used. These envelopes can be purchased from any office supply store.

You do not need Copy A for the IRS, because 1099 Express can e-File free directly to the IRS with your TCC number. Please see: See e-FIling to the IRS

However, 1099 Express can skip e-Filing, and file to the IRS on paper! The due date is February 28th. Print on Copy A and mail in one envelope to the IRS, with the 1096 transmittal.

To do this, you must order forms. Copy A and Form 1096 can not be created on blank paper. The forms are pre-manufactured, "scanner ready", forms with special red ink. Order them free from the IRS at Click here: Free forms from the IRS

If a corrections needs to be made or if a Payee/Recipient was left out, please refer to the link provded here: Creating a Correction File
