▬ Moving 1099 Express to a New PC ▬

The 1099 Express program can be transferred to a different computer if the User de-activates the program ahead of time. It is not necessary to purchase another user license to transfer the 1099 Express program to another computer. However, if you have already purchased the most current years program and need an additional license, you can contact us at Support@1099express.com for assistance.

Our Team highly suggests transferring any files (SRC, TXT, EXCEL, etc.) from the ‘T20XX’ folder before deactivation. If the program is deactivated before moving the file(s) created from the 1099 Express program, they may be permanently deleted.

For instructions on how to transfer a license, please refer to the directions below:

  1. Open-up the 1099 Express program and select the 'HELP' tab on the very top-right of the screen.

  2. Select the option 'DEACTIVATE' from the drop-down menu.

  3. A pop-up window will appear and ask if the user would like to "view/print 'File Names' and 'Locations' for back-up purposes".
Select 'Yes' for the report or select 'No' if the file(s) have been moved already.

  4. After selecting an option from the previous pop-up window, the 1099 Express program will proceed in the deactivation process.
During this process, 1099 Express will display an 'Invoice Number' that the User can copy for future reference.

  5. A new pop-up window will populate with the message "Deactivation was Successful!".

  6. On the new computer, go to Downloads Click the Orange Folder for the program, and follow the directions to download and install 1099Express.
Use the same tax year program uninstalled in Step 1. Activate the new program using "Auto Activate" with the invoice number.
Copy your data files to the new computer, if necessary.

If futher assitance is needed please Contact Us.

FAQ

Yes, but we highly reccomend keeping the list of your file(s) and the location of file(s).

Copy your data files to a camera card or a shared network drive.

No. All programs revert to "Test" mode when first installed or copied to any other computer. It's always better to download and run a new install from the internet.

Use the latest 1099 program. The newest version of the program can create laser forms for any previous tax year, or e-File for any previous year.
